Mark Ridley-Thomas has worked to reduce crime and violence by supporting law enforcement and working with communities to put gang prevention programs into effect.
He started "Days of Dialogue" to bring police, Sheriff's deputies, firefighters, religious leaders, business men and women, teachers and civic leaders together in communities to prevent divisive issues or problems from becoming flashpoints for incidents of neighborhood violence or civil unrest.
Building Coalitions to Create Jobs and Economic Development
By bringing together local business leaders together with community leaders and unions, Mark Ridley-Thomas succeeded in attracting $500 million in local investments that resulted in thousands of new jobs for residents.

That's why he has the support of local business leaders and the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor, professional nurses, homecare workers, police officers, Sheriff's deputies, probation officers and firefighters.
Leading the Fight for Better Health Care
Mark Ridley-Thomas has fought to make healthcare more accessible and affordable for hard-working families. He expanded the Public School Health Center program that provides preventative health services to thousands of children in Los Angeles County.
He will fight to make sure we have quality emergency care and competent medical staff at our public hospitals and comprehensive health clinics who place the healthcare needs of patients above everything else.
